HYDROTOURS

Transforming Hydropower Heritage into a Sustainable Tourism Network

Hydrotours is a strategic territorial master plan that transforms the Belviso–Ganda hydropower district into a new destination for sustainable tourism in the Italian Alps. The project reconnects dams, reservoirs, historic villages, mountain landscapes and slow mobility into a coherent territorial system, where industrial heritage becomes the catalyst for ecological regeneration, visitor experiences and local economic development.

Through a network of hiking trails, e-bike routes, eco-lodges, panoramic viewpoints and interpretation facilities, the master plan promotes year-round tourism while preserving the environmental and cultural identity of the Alpine landscape. Rather than treating infrastructure and nature as separate elements, Hydrotours integrates them into a single vision that strengthens accessibility, biodiversity, heritage conservation and community resilience.
