THE METHOD BEHIND MY WORK
The Ecological Diagnostic Framework (EDF)
The Ecological Diagnostic Framework (EDF) is a methodology I developed through more than two decades of professional experience in urban design, master planning and landscape strategy across Europe and Southeast Asia.
Rather than evaluating sustainability through isolated indicators, the EDF reads the relationships between mobility, soil, water, canopy, biodiversity, public space and urban form — revealing where systems reinforce one another, where they conflict, and where design intervention can have the greatest impact.
I use the framework as a practical diagnostic tool to assess existing masterplans, identify missed opportunities and translate complex ecological relationships into clear design priorities.
The EDF also forms the methodological foundation of my book The Ecological City.
