URBAN DESIGN BETWEEN EUROPE AND ASIA

LESSONS, STRATEGIES AND REAL PRACTICE

From Milan to Saigon, I share 20+ years of field-based urban design through writing, teaching, and consulting

Hi! I'm Francesco Procacci

I’m an Italian PhD in Urban Design & Master Planning, with over 20 years of international experience across Europe and Southeast Asia.

I specialize in strategic planning, master planning, landscape design and public space with a strong focus on tropical and rapidly urbanizing contexts.

After living and working in Vietnam for the past two decades, I now share my knowledge through consulting, teaching, and publishing.

My approach blends real-world experience, critical thinking, and a deep belief in people-centered urbanism.

Let’s shape better cities — grounded in reality, inspired by context.

About

work with me

Urban designer, strategist, storyteller

With over 20 years of experience across Europe and Southeast Asia, I help developers, institutions, and design studios imagine and shape the cities of tomorrow.

I work at the intersection of concept design, landscape strategy, and narrative planning — transforming ideas into concrete visions that are locally rooted and globally relevant.

Whether you're developing a new urban district, rethinking public space, or launching an innovative project, I can support you through:

  • Urban and landscape masterplanning

  • Strategic design consultancy

  • Narrative framing and visual storytelling

  • Team mentoring and design direction

Let’s work together to make your next project more coherent, bold, and meaningful.

Insights from the Field

From Milan to Saigon — twenty years of learning, unlearning, and designing

My writing is an extension of my practice: a way to reflect, question, and share.

I publish essays, booklets, and urban tales based on real projects, critical observations, and the lessons learned from working inside complex urban environments.

These publications are not theoretical exercises — they are field notes.
Direct, personal, and sometimes provocative.

If you're curious about how cities evolve, what we get wrong in urban design, and what we might do differently… you're in the right place.
